Officials from the Ministry of Commerce have recently pointed out that despite ample foreign exchange reserve and reasonable domestic liquidity, China would continue to actively and effectively attract foreign investment.
According to a report in China Securities, Vice Minister Ma Xiuhong said at the Tenth CEO Annual Conference that foreign investment has not only brought to China capital, advanced technology and new management ideas, but also provided employment and broadened our horizon.
Vice Minister Ma Xiuhong emphasized that in new environment, there will be adjustment in China????s policy on attracting foreign investment. The focus will be shifted to the optimization of industrial structure of foreign investment, and improvement of the quality and level of the investment. China will continue to encourage foreign investment in research centers, high & new technologies and energy saving environmental industries. Efforts will also be made in attracting foreign investment to middle-west China and the old industrial base in north-east China.
