Petroleum and salt chemical industry
Dongying boasts rich resources of oil, natural gas and salt, and is one important oil and salt production base in eastern coastal region of China. There are 10 oil refineries, whose production scale exceeds 1 million ton each and annual production capacity totals 15 million tons, and over 200 enterprises involved in salt chemical and fine chemical industry. All these provide rich raw materials for the development of deep processing of petroleum and fine chemical industry.
Machinery and electronics
With strong technical force and advanced equipments, Dongying takes the lead in China with respect to the manufacturing of petroleum machinery and related electronical apparatuses. Enterprises like Shengli Oilfield Motive Power Machinery Company, Wanda Group, Keyin Laser Electronics Co.,Ltd, Xinyi Auto Fittings Co.,Ltd, and Nanli Fine Casting Co.,Ltd enjoy prestige nationalwide and their products are well sold at home and abroad.
Textile and Garments
The Yellow River Delta, where Dongying is located, is a main production base of cotton. Textile and garments industries, therefore, are the key industries supported by Dongying government. There are 15 large scale companies involved in textile industry with total production scale of 1.2 million spindles, to reach 2 million spindles in the near future. Their main products include cotton yarn, cotton fabric, home textiles and garments etc. There is great potential for the development of high grade textile, printing & dyeing, and garments.
Paper making, rubber and furniture
Dongying has favorable conditions for the development of paper making, furniture, tyres, plastic, phamaceuticals,and new building materials, which are growing to large scale industries.
Huatai group is a famous enterprise in paper making industry of China, and also a listed company with production scale of 1.2 million tons of diversified paper products. The bedroom and office furniture produced by Huanghekou Furniture Co.,Ltd and Shenghui Wood Products Co.,Ltd are exported to Europe, U.S. and Southeast Asia. The various Chinese medicines and pharmaceuticals developed by Fenghuang Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd enjoy good credit for their remarkable curative effects. The PVC pipelines produced by Huanya Plastic Company, a holding company set up by Taiwan Plastic Group in Dongying, are credited with high quality and fall short of demand. There are over 20 enterprises in Dongying, which are engaged in the production of tyres. These companies have accumulative annual production capacity of 13 million set of tyres, including 3.9 million set of all-steel radial tyres, and their products are exported to a number of countries and regions.
Agricultural development and organic food processing
The Yellow River Delta is covered by vast new land formed by the mud silting of the Yellow River, which is fertile and free from pollution due to short period of utilization. It is confirmed by the UNIDO as an ???°International Demonstration Region for Green Industry???± and suitable for the construction of organic food production and processing base. This area , where the Yellow River meets with Bohai sea, has vast low beaches???? and is an ideal place for the development of aquatic farming. The green food produced by Huayu Group, Wandefu Group and Lidefu Group etc. are popular in both domestic and international markets.
Service industry and urban infrastructure construction
Dongying ranks in the forefront in Shandong province in terms of per capita consumption level. With great market potential, Dongying has a good prospect for the development of service sectors like commerce, logistics, culture & entertainment, education and health.
